This describes the changing position of the baby in the womb, and is only noted as such if changes occur between antenatal visits after 36 weeks. Ideally during these last few weeks the baby adopts a head-down position, ready for labour and delivery, even if the head isn't engaged. An unstable lie is noted, and will need to be assessed if it continues up to the beginning of labour.
