Method

Mix it all together. Hard, ain't it?

Oven setting required to harden your finished artwork - 180 degrees celsius, 350 degrees fahrenheit, gas mark 4.
Takes about 20 minutes.
You could add a few drops of food coloring to the dough.

Papier Mache

* 8 tablespoons of flour
* 150ml (1/4 pint) water
* Newspaper

Method

Mix the flour and water into a nice thick icky glue. Dip the strips of newspaper in the mix, and squeeze out the excess, then apply to your frame.
Your frame could be a blown up balloon, or an empty bottle or can, or any disposable container.

For a mash variation, soak the newspaper for 24 hours, then boil, stirring unto a pulp. Cool, strain, add pva glue and wallpaper paste. Mix well.
When you've covered your container, and your work has completely dried out, you can use poster paints to decorate it or attach other decorations to it, and seal it using clear varnish or shellac.

Make your own watercolor paints

* 1 tablespoon white vinegar
* 2 tablespoons baking powder
* 1 tablespoon cornflour
* 1/2 teaspoon glycerine
* 2 drops food coloring
* 1 teaspoon water

Method

Mix the vinegar and baking powder in a small bowl, and when the baking powder's stopped fizzing, add the cornflour and glycerine, then stir in the coloring. If it looks too gloopy and thick, add a bit more water. Store in a tightly lidded container.

Coloured Noodles!

Materials Needed:
Noodles
Rubbing Alcohol
Food Coloring
Ziploc Baggie or Bowls

Instructions:
Note: Give yourself plenty of time for this craft! It can take hours for the noodles to reach the desired color, and it can take the noodles up to 24 hours to dry. And... please do not do this craft without an adults help!
First we want to color the noodles. Use one baggie or bowl for each color you want to make. Place the desired number of noodles in the baggie or bowl. Pour on enough rubbing alcohol so all the noddles are covered. Add a generous amount of food coloring to each container of noodles. Put these aside and let them sit until they are the desired color (this can take hours - the longer they sit the brighter the colors). Once the noodles have reached the desired color, remove them from the baggie or bowl and lay them in a single layer on paper towels to dry.

Once your noodles are dry, your are ready to be creative! Use the noodles to make jewelry (use a variety of noodles with a hole in them), collages, sculptures, or anything else you can dream up.

If you are really feeling creative, use acrylic paints and a paint brush to hand paint small designs on your noodles!
