SCIENTISTS have made a breast cancer breakthrough which could extend the lives of sufferers by up to 30 per cent.
Docs are developing a ‘smart’ protein that starves tumours and reduces secondary growths in the bones — which often prove fatal.
Dr Judith Harmey, of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, said: “We are absolutely delighted. It’s worked better than ever expected.”
