It's been almost 12 hours since my gum graft operation this morning, and it's uncomfortable. Worse than getting my wisdom teeth out.

Had to get it done since my gums had receeded right down to the root of the 2 front bottom teeth.

Word to all kids thinking of getting an oral piercing: don't do it. It's not worth the problems.

*puts ice on her face*

Oral pain is really the pits. Have you been given any strong painkillers?

Tongue bar? Or labret? Whatever.... OUCH!!!!!

I'm so sorry for your pain, and I tend to agree, facial/oral piercings shouldn't be allowed or only one per mouth, if that makes sense.

They really are so bad for teeth and gums

how long will it take to heal completely? And I assue you have removed the piercing too?

Thanks for the kind words girls

I've been given some pain killers and anti-inflamatories which are alright, except I have to make sure I don't stand up or sit down too quickly since they make me dizzy.

The piercing was in only for about a year, and out for 2... but the receeding kept getting it worse, until I had to go see a specialist who recommended I get this done as soon as possible.

The stitches are coming out next week, and after that it'll probably be another couple of weeks before it's healed. I'm sure it'll still be fairly sensitive though.
