Oasis earned its seventh U.K. No. 1 single -- and first since April 2002 -- with "Lyla," a track from its upcoming album, "Don't Believe the Truth."

The rock group on Sunday ended the two-week reign of rapper Akon's "Lonely." Meanwhile, veteran dance act Faithless scored an instant No. 1 on the album chart with "Forever Faithless -- The Greatest Hits."

Oasis, whose sixth studio album comes out next week, last topped the singles charts with "The Hindu Times." It previously topped the survey with "Some Might Say" (1995), "Don't Look Back in Anger" (1996), "D'You Know What I Mean" (1997), "All Around the World" (1998) and "Go Let It Out" (2000).
