Something has triggered.
Inside of her head
Bang.
Most of the time
She wishes she never knew
She wants again to rest
In the paradise of naivete
But another part of her
The part that hides when she cries
Is glad.
She still has the memory.
The words at the time
It didn’t seem to matter
But they stung her brain
And filled her eyes with tears
Before she even understood.
The light at the end of the tunnel
Slowly disappearing
An old reality.
Lost.
Wanting to scream
She stands alone
Frozen, numb.
Yet still going on.
Smiling, laughing
No longer second nature.
And she will keep igniting her dim glow
Until there is no-one
Break
Down
Cry.
Knowledge hurts like hell.
