Australian actor Russell Crowe has been arrested in New York for allegedly assaulting a hotel employee.
The Gladiator star, 41, is said to have struck the man in the face when he threw the telephone during a row at the Mercer Hotel, where he was staying.
Mr Crowe was released after appearing in court charged with second degree assault and possession of a weapon.
He spent the weekend in Manchester supporting Australian boxer Kostya Tszyu in his bout against Ricky Hatton.
Tszyu retired on his stool at the end of the 11th round.

Crowe then flew straight to New York to promote his latest movie, Cinderella Man, a biopic based on the life of 1920s world heavyweight boxing champion James J Braddock, which opened in cinemas last weekend.
The Ron Howard-directed film also stars Renee Zellweger.
