My boyfriend is a constant gamer, so yeah, I feel your pain. I don't react quite like you do though. It took me a while, but I realized that playing video games is quite innocent and entertaining - and it's a great way to pass the time. Sometimes you're just too overwhelmed or tired and the best way to unwind is with a good game. I know it sounds weird, but that's my take on it. Regardless, the way that I learned to deal with it and work around it is simple. Play with him! I know it sounds like I'm telling you to cave, but I'm not. Playing video games with your boyfriend, not only increases communication, but it also helps in team-building and trust. It really does help, because if you play games with him like Left 4 Dead - it's about zombies and surviving their attacks - you two need to be able to work together and be right there for each other at any second. This also helps to eliminate the amount of time that he spends in front of the computer. My boyfriend used to play for hours straight and now he his gaming sessions are less than 2 hours usually. Trust me, don't try to change it, just adapt and show him that you can be interested in what he's interested in too. Because if all you do is shoot down what he likes to do, it might cause bigger problems later on.
