If you are not absolutely certain you want the tattoo, I would wait to get it.  Piercings can be fun and they will heal with minimal scarring (depending on where the piercing is.)  I had my nose, 5 holes in the ears, the little flap of cartilage in your ear, my tongue (2 holes), and my belly button pierced.  I had a friend who did piercing when I was younger lol  I rarely wear any of these piercings now tho.
