I truly am the biggest dumbass alive today...
I've had the last 4 Mondays off work.......somehow my brain translated that to mean I also had THIS monday (ie today) off work as well....
So I didn't set my alarm last night, had a luvverly long lie this morning and was lying in bed all snuggly and warm when suddenly the voice in my head piped up....
"Pssssssst shouldn't you be at work?"
I sat bolt upright.... and said to Subby...
"What if I'm NOT on a day off today?"
I can't remember his reply but I'm pretty sure it was along the lines of "don't be silly" lol.
So he suggested I phone work and see if anyone answered the phone which I did....
AAAAAAAAAARGH no answer..
I have never moved so fast in my life I went from deep sleep to fully dressed and out teh door in 5 minutes
As I approach my work I can see Charmaine standing outside (who incidentaly was not expecting to see me given that I had told her it was my day off) and a queue of very irate customers...(I mean Geez ! get a life I was only 15 minutes late
)
So once inside I explained to Charmaine that I had screwed up and got my days off mixed up and let the irate customers in....
All moaning ad whining cos they had to wait an extra 15 minutes for their shampoo
I did what any manager worth their salts would do...I LIED
They went from angry customers to "OH ! poor you having to get out of bed on your day off because your cover never arrived" and "that's terrible....you should go get a coffee" pmsl.
I feel so stoopid but at the same time slightly amazed that the voice in my head was actually telling me the truth this time, if only it had decided to speak up and be heard slightly before 5 minutes to 9.
And what did Subby do? he rolled over and went back to sleep
so at least someone got to have a long lie.
