Sitting back in the darkness
Staring into the distance at a rainbow
No chance to reach the color
No chance to reach the pot of gold
Stuck in the shadows of my world
So close to the bright light
yet all the distance to travel
To stand in it once again
Being stuck in the dark is painful
Cuts and bruises pale in comparison
Outer pain fades to blemish
Inner pain rules the roost
Falling asleep in the darkness
Maybe that is for the best
Maybe you have nothing to lose
When you comprehend you are already lost
The arms of life do try and hold me
To pick me up when I fall down
But the arms of life are strangling me
Why cant they just let me go....
