Could it be some kind of spider bites?  You mentioned cleaned dusty corners.  A few  years back, I was in my daughter's closet, cleaning around and got bit all over my arms and legs by some mysterious insect.  I don't know if it was an ant or spider, but it really left a lot of red bumps all over me.  I was in pain for a week.  Try topical anti-histamine.  That should take the itchy down.  Talk to your doctor.  That's the next thing you should do.
