Well, since I am super excited about this, I decided to create one big thread to talk about it.
What this big deal is, my friends and I from this other forum that I go on are planning to all meet up in Nova Scotia, Canada in a few years and go on the ultimate road trip together. We've grown very close, even just over the internet, and now we're going to actually do this once and a lifetime experience together.
We will all meet up there in five years. The reason we are waiting so long is because we need to plan way ahead for this kind of thing. We're going to be traveling all around the United States and maybe through Canada. (We have a couple of Canadian friends who want to come and see so that's why we're meeting in Nova Scotia. It's kind of a neutral distance location for everyone.) It's going to cost a lot of money.
For example, we are going to be purchasing not one but two Land Rover Discoveries. We're getting Land Rovers because they're the best of their kind and they are just what we need for this trip.
I know I've posted pictures elsewhere before, but
These are our weapons of choice. Within the next few years we'll be able to buy them! I've made a few calculations and it's looking like I might be able to get enough money. The car has lots of miles on it, but since we're rather low budget when it comes to vehicles we can't be too picky. I did my best to find vehicles with little visible damage...
My friend, Dusty, is taking the role of Team Leader since he's going to be contributing a lot of money to this trip. Everyone is pitching in, but he's really dedicated. Like, without him we wouldn't be able to do this. (he's getting extra money due to some legal case [he didn't tell me much about it] that happened when he was younger) Since I am also helping to pay for one of the vehicles he's letting me be a co-leader.
I am also "credit to team" because I am the team grease monkey. That means that it will be my job to make sure that all of the vehicles stay up and running and to be able to make repairs during an emergency. I am also in charge of batteries in repair kits.
Our other friend is in charge of bringing first aid kits. He knows what he is doing so it's good that we have him around in case something happens.
In total, we have about 7 or 8 people with us. We don't know our exact route yet, but it's going to be a long, amazing trip. We're going to hang out together and get to know each other very well over this trip. Even though it's a long way away I am very excited.
We will entertain ourselves by listening to and playing music, reading, watching movies, hiking... it's going to be a blast. These are basically the seven coolest people I've ever met on the internet and I can't wait to see them.
