I think it also helps to vent. I'm worrying about paying for a trip - I'm in a long distance relationship and my boyfriend is coming to visit. He's covering the plane ticket, but I want to cover expenses when he gets here. However, I'll need to save at least $1000. Right now it seems insurmountable. But I guess if I save $5 here, $5 there, I can make it . When I talk to friends about it, it gives me relief, and they help out with suggestions. I think it's particularly hard to deal with a limited budget when you're in a financially precarious situation already.
