For me the most important thing is that we can communicate honestly with each other.  So many problems in relationships seem to come from a lack of communication, so being able to sit down and talk about any issues that arise is something I really value. 

My partner and I were actually long distance for the first year of our relationship, so all we could do was talk and it really showed me how important it is to be able to share with each other
