I've lived with families who had young kids with a TV on at most time. I would not want this for my kid. It makes them rude about it, really. And I in general hate this way people have that, if a tv is on, they watch it no matter what's on, even when it's boring. I've actually felt this pull when people around me turn on the TV -- I start to watch just because it's there.I'd much rather my kids be more bored. Being bored makes people more creative. Though I would not forbid TV completely -- there is a lot of great stuff to be seen and discovered that sparks the imagination rather than kill it.
