I think a few years ago, I would have answered this saying that as long as a parent has say over what is being watched, *some* TV doesn't seem harmful especially if it's educational programs. But it's not a few years ago and now the educational channels are showing filth in commercials, too... it's like nothing matters any longer. Things that we'd have to switch the station if a young child is watching/hearing are on all channels now. Bottom line... yes, I now think that TV has the potential to be harmful. I prefer videos that are safe, or online streaming videos that I know are safe. Amazon prime even has a bunch of stuff for kids. No commercials with language and violence that would make a sailor blush.
