I have 1 best friend and that is my childhood friend.  We have had each other back since day 1 and can talk to each other about anything.  I also have a few friends but not many. Because i don't deal with a lot of people. Everyone who says they are your friend is not. They will stab you in the back quicker than you think and smile and grin in your face and talk about you behind your back.  Sometimes hanging around a group of people is nothing but trouble.  So that's why i only have a few friends that i hang around been knowing them for a long time and they have always been there to support me when i needed them.  Me and my childhood best friend don't get to see each other a lot like we used to because she moved out of town but we do talk on the phone.
