I have two pairs and that is because there was a sale at the spectacles shop so I purchased a new pair just in case the present one I'm wearing got misplaced. It's actually not a good idea to have a spare pair of spectacles. In fact, it's a waste of money because your eyes might get worse or better and if you had bought two pairs and only wear one consistently then the other one might not ever be used and your eyes might just get worse and you need to replace your glasses anyway. So I think having one pair is quite sufficient.
