Romania Awaits Bird Flu Results

A laboratory in Britain is expected to announce whether a second outbreak of bird flu in Romania is also the type that is potentially lethal to humans.

The lab is testing samples taken from swans which died in ponds near the village of Maliuc in the Danube Delta.

Romanian authorities have been culling thousands of birds, and the affected area has been placed under quarantine.

The H5N1 bird flu strain found in Romania has been linked to more than sixty human deaths in Asia.

Maliuc is only 30km (20 miles) from Ceamurlia de Jos, where the country's first confirmed case of the virus was found.

Have been watching this topic too.
From what I have read , the entire world seems to panic and there is mass hysteria but what everyone does not realise is they should take all necessary precautions to stop the flu from infecting everybody around us.

The CDC reports say that there are a number of drugs to control this outbreak and these are tamiflu, relenza and amantadine .
