You hurt me once when I was innocent.
I hadn’t a notion of this burden.
You asked for forgiveness,
And I accepted.
You hurt me twice, when I was frail.
I was broken, yet tenacity was still on my side.
You asked for forgiveness,
I refused.
I let me go, you couldn’t stop.
I forgave you once,
I forgave you twice.
But the memories cannot.
It was as if you impaled me whole.
Without a doubt, my limbs whaled free,
Unlike my heart, you left it and let me be…
