How do you cheer yourself up on a bad day?

What are some little things you do for yourself to perk up a bad day?

I like putting one of my favourite movies on and giving myself a manicure, or making tea and spending some time reading. Going to the gym and working out hard for an hour or so helps me feel better if I'm really stressing out too.

Buying myself a new makeup product or going to the mall to try on pretty dresses is another thing that always cheers me up, even if I don't end up leaving with any new outfits.

For me it's all about distracting myself so I can take a step back from whatever is bothering me. I find that once I've taken a bit of a break and relaxed, it's easier to approach a problem with a fresh outlook :)

The tried and tested methods are a hot and nice smelling bath, whatever the time of day and to wash my hair. I always feel better with a clean head of hair.

Then chocolate always works for me. I have zero guilt and can eat several bars. I also prefer not to see or to speak to anyone and put my favorite music on or watch an old film. Time for myself and whatever I choose to do, because otherwise I just get stressed.

I usually pamper myself if I'm having a bad day. I think that's it's VERY important to treat yourself every once in a while :).
Sometimes I make hot chocolate with whipped cream and read my favorite book or watch my favorite movie by myself :3

I will mostly just chill at my bed and watch dramas with a pint of ice-cream ^^

Yep, I just take some me time. That might include a nice bubble bath or a long hot shower with lovely scented soaps. Sometimes, it might just mean getting out of the house and getting some sunshine. Music can be sketchy... it really depends on the music. Sometimes, it makes me even sadder.

Acting silly is the best way for me to cheer myself up. I usually do something that I would want to do as a little girl. I have been known to hula hoop, go get an ice cream cone, swing on some swings, go hang upside down somewhere and/or flip over the bars, play a manic game of tether ball with my kid, watch something that makes me laugh until my belly hurts or call a friend who does the same. getting too immersed in adulting is a surefire way to bring on stress. I will do whatever it takes to make myself not be so serious for too many days in a row. It is necessary to retain focus, but when it devolves into worry, worry solves nothing. Sometimes the mental switch that play provides brings us the available brain space to think more creatively about the problems that are weighing us down. Forget what you think other people will say, you are taking care of your mental health, which takes care of your physical health, so PLAY! :ROFLMAO:
