This is a true. I just read it on the online version of an Australian news paper.

A YOUNG man was robbed, sexually assaulted and had all 10 fingers broken after his car was stopped on a New South Wales freeway by a man claiming to be a police officer.

The 22-year-old was driving on the F3 through Tuggerah, on the NSW central coast, about 11pm (AEDT) on Saturday night when a car signalled with its headlights for him to pull over.
Detectives said the victim was then approached by three men, one of whom claimed to be a police officer.

When his demands to see police ID were refused, the young man drove off but the trio pursued him and forced him off the road.

He was forced into the passenger seat of his car by one of the men before being taken to another area where he was robbed, bashed and sexually assaulted, Detective Inspector Julie Hill, of The Entrance police, said.

His ATM card was stolen and he was forced to reveal his PIN.

The victim was then taken to Foreshore Reserve at Canton Beach where he was released by his attackers, who drove off in his 1993-model silver Corolla sedan.
"The 22-year-old man has significant facial injuries to the point where he is going to need surgical rectification, he's got major damage to his teeth and he has 10 broken fingers," Insp Hill said.

The young man was found on Wilfred Barrett Drive about one hour later and was taken to The Entrance police station.

Police this morning located the victim's vehicle, which had been torched in Wallarah Road, Gorokan.

"There is absolutely no indication that he knew these people and the attack appears quite random," Insp Hill said.

Superintendent Geoff McKechnie said it was not the first incident to occur in the area.

"Since our appeal has gone out in the media we have received information about similar type instances where vehicles have had headlights flashed at them and attempts have been made to stop vehicles," he said.

Police believe the group was travelling in a light coloured, late-model sedan and are urging drivers to beware.

"Make sure there are red and blue flashing lights – even unmarked vehicles have the red and blue flashing lights – and if they're told these people are police then they ask for identification," Insp Hill said
